This is for the men and women who feel like life has been hitting them since before they were born. For the ones who feel like the curse started generations back and somehow landed on their shoulders to break. For the ones who keep trying, keep fighting, keep showing up — and still feel like they’re drowning in a world that refuses to slow down.
You are not imagining it. You are not weak. You are not cursed. You are carrying more than most people will ever understand.
Mental Health in America Is Getting Worse — Especially for Our Youth
Across the country, children are struggling earlier and harder:
-
Depression in youth has more than doubled.
-
Suicide is now the second leading cause of death for ages 10–24.
-
Kids as young as 8 and 9 are reporting suicidal thoughts.
-
ER visits for youth mental‑health crises have risen by over 60%.
And the disparities are real:
-
Black, Hispanic, and minority youth are less likely to receive treatment.
-
White youth are more likely to get early intervention and support.
-
Minority communities face higher stigma, fewer resources, and more systemic barriers.
This isn’t coincidence. This is a crisis — and America is not doing enough.
The Spiritual Realm Is at War With the Reality We’re Living In
You don’t need religion to feel it. You don’t need doctrine to sense it.
There is a war between:
-
the peace our spirit longs for
-
and the chaos reality keeps throwing at us
Between:
-
the healing we’re trying to reach
-
and the generational wounds we inherited
Between:
-
who we are becoming
-
and what the world keeps trying to make us be
Every day, we stand in the middle — exhausted, hopeful, hurting, rising.
We Need Each Other More Than Ever
Healing cannot happen in silence. Change cannot happen in judgment.
We must:
-
stop dismissing people’s pain
-
stop telling them to “get over it”
-
stop pretending mental health is optional
-
stop ignoring the wounds in minority communities
-
stop acting like people should carry generational trauma alone
We must learn to see each other. Really see each other.
To the Ones Who Feel Cursed: You Are Seen
You are not cursed. You are carrying the weight of generations. You are navigating systems that were not built for you. You are fighting battles that started long before your birth. You are surviving storms that were never yours to begin with.
And still — you rise.
You rise every morning. You rise every time you choose healing. You rise every time you refuse to repeat the cycle. You rise every time you show up for your children, your family, yourself.
You are not cursed. You are chosen — to break what broke the generations before you.
